A new look for the Library’s Single Search submitted by Robbyn Lanning
Hi colleagues! Here’s a friendly FYI regarding a library system that is changing soon, Single Search, the key research interface/discovery system. Hopefully, this message helps reduce the number of instructors who may be surprised in the fall by the change.
The library’s Single Search tool (EBSCO Discovery Service) is transitioning to a new user interface. The updated tool will impact your research experience, as familiar features will have moved and new features are being introduced. For example, EDS browser URLs are now persistent, meaning they can be shared and bookmarked without creating special permalinks.
Librarians are here to help you navigate the changes and experiment with the new interface. We encourage you to sign up for our upcoming workshops, or watch a recorded tutorial showcasing Single Search’s new design. Feel free to reach out to your subject librarian if you have questions or concerns.
A sneak peek of the new interface is now available. You can explore the new design by clicking the preview link on the library homepage.
The full launch of the updated Single Search will take place in mid-August. A link to the retired version will be available through the end of the Fall 2024 term.
