2023 Call for CCFA Charitable Donations Proposals

April 20, 2023 by Lynelle Yutani 1 Comment

Call to Act, if not you, who?

We want to invite you to submit your proposals for the annual CCFA Charitable Donations.  Please read more about our 2022 recipients here on our Blog.

Guiding Principles for CCFA Charitable Donations:

We support initiatives that are consistent with CCFA goals outlined below:

We support initiatives in which Camosun College Faculty members are actively involved.

We support initiatives in which our labour partners are involved.

We are guided by cost-effectiveness.

In no particular order, we are interested in the following:

a. Situations in which oppression and misuse of power are apparent
b. Education initiatives
c. Human rights
d. Poverty
e. Green initiatives
f. Initiatives that move a community forward
g. Matters of hunger and safety

Each year we prioritize projects involving CCFA faculty and students.  Please submit your letter of application to  @Peg Ford or @Laurence Toffoletto by May 5th.

The total approved budget for these donations combined is $1500 and may be distributed among any number of Recipients at the discretion of the CCFA Executive.

It is helpful to include details of the project, how the requested funds are to be spent, as well as the dollar amount requested.

We hope to arrive at a decision no later than May 31st and prefer to distribute the funds prior to September 1st.  Please consider those factors in your letter of application.

The Camosun College Faculty Association serves it’s members while residing on the traditional and unceded territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees) and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We express our profound gratitude to our traditional hosts’ welcome and tolerance of our uninvited presence while we strive to dismantle our colonial, patriarchal, and racist cultural biases.
