Hi Members!
Our office staff take their much-deserved holidays in the summer while many of you are also away on vacation. During July and August, when our office hours are reduced due to seasonal staffing availability, processing of PD claims may take up to 30 days. Please remember that all PD inquiries, including claims, should be sent to ac.nusomac@DP-AFCC.
REMINDER: August 3-7th, 2026 the office in Young 221, Lansdowne will be closed.
However, we know that there’s no vacation from collective agreement disputes, so your Contract Management and Contract Negotiating Crew are still on the job! Here’s your first point of contact if you have issues or questions about your rights!
- July 6-10 Peter Ove, ac.ytlucafnusomac@riahccmc
- July 13-24, Blair Fisher, ac.ytlucafnusomac@serpeciv
- July 27-Aug 28 Lynelle Yutani, ac.ytlucafnusomac@tnediserp
For many general questions about your rights and benefits, a quick search on the website or a review of the blog can point you in the right direction. If you’ve already joined our Discord server, you can even chat with us about your questions. Haven’t joined yet? Contact ac.ytlucafnusomac@tnediserp for an invite! Most of our work throughout the summer is done remotely, but if you need to have an in-person meeting, please don’t hesitate to request an appointment.
The Beta Testing for the new PD Power App is closed, and the next PD meeting isn’t until September, so unless your claims are already in process, please refer to the traditional instructions on the website. Thank you for understanding that processing claims during the summer can take up to 30 days.
A few last reminders: make sure you’ve accepted your BBQ invite for September 2nd and be sure to sign up to march together in the Pride Parade! The parade will take place on Sunday, July 12th, and we will likely meet downtown at our marshalling location around 10 am. More detailed information will be posted on Discord and sent to everyone who signs up closer to the date! This year, we have our own Pride T-shirts. Email me your size!
Happy summer to those of you who are away enjoying your well-earned vacation, and my heart overflows with gratitude for all our members who work through the summer to make that possible!
In Solidarity,
