(On behalf of PD Chair, Martha McAlister)

Friday, November 17, 12:00-1:00pm ONLINE

For continuing faculty who have been employed at the College for longer than two years, who are contemplating a long-term Professional Development activity for 2024/2025, come and get your questions answered. Long-term funds are allocated to support faculty for activities which are normally longer than two months in duration and cost more than $4,000. Faculty members may apply for activity costs to a maximum of $25,000 OR the equivalent in salary replacement for release from regular work at the college, and can receive funding for a maximum of five years.

Applications are due by noon on Jan. 26, 2024, and the PD Committee will meet in February to review these applications.

CCFA PD funding available to attend S’TEṈISTOLW̱ Indigenous Conference

When: August 20-23, 2024 at Camosun College

Pre-approved PD funding has been made available for CCFA faculty to attend. For the first 30 faculty members that apply, funding will come from the in-house budget (e.g. available to continuing faculty and current term faculty, not pro-rated, will not impact your personal allotment of funds). Simply submit the pre-approved application form to the CCFA Office, wait for confirmation that you are one of the first 30 before registering, and then submit your receipts for reimbursement after you register for the conference. If we receive more than 30 applications, the rest will be fast-tracked using the same form but funds will come from your personal allotment. You can be reimbursed for a maximum of $1,014.20 (if you want to include the pre-conference day, cultural dinner, and get the book “Moving Indigenous Education Forward”). For questions, please contact the CCFA Office .

The Camosun College Faculty Association serves it’s members while residing on the traditional and unceded territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees) and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We express our profound gratitude to our traditional hosts’ welcome and tolerance of our uninvited presence while we strive to dismantle our colonial, patriarchal, and racist cultural biases.
