Na'tsa'maht - Working Together as One: Artist Butch Dick

Greetings to all our CCFA Members!

Did you miss the Fall General Meeting on October 8, 2026?

If so, you missed another successful hybrid meeting — but not to worry! Here are your highlights from the meeting, along with a few reminders for the months ahead.

Meeting Business & Reports:

Treasurer’s Report

Amended 2026-2027 Budget Passed

Our Union and AI – Interactive Discussion

We tried something new this time – we set aside a short portion of the meeting for a fun, interactive activity where members broke into small groups to discuss AI and help shape the CCFA’s position on artificial intelligence.  We’re busy compiling the results and will post soon with our findings!

Professional Development

Huge thanks to Martha McAlister and the PD Committee for their work!

PD Information Meetings this fall:

  • Nov 9, 2026 1:00 – 2:00 pm – Long-term PD Infosession
  • January 26, 2027 – 11:00 – 12:00 pm – Professional Development/SD Planning

The new PD Applications & Claims Modernization Project is in its final development stage, and we will be rolling it out sometime over the next few months. Thank you to everyone who participated in the beta testing over the summer!

Remember, all faculty—including term instructors—have access to PD funds.

President’s Report

The 2026-2027 Executive Team members have almost all returned for a third term, except for a few new members. It’s great to see how this team has very much hit its stride – be sure to thank these long-serving members when you see them on the campus!

Thanks to everyone who participated in the Unions Welcome Back Fall BBQ and Annual CCFA Planning Day— it was an afternoon of collaboration, planning, great food, and excellent company!

Fair Employment Week is here!

We’re trying something new this year – we are inviting New Fall 2026 Term instructors to join us at one of our pub nights over the year, and we’ll buy them dinner! Invites will be going out to these new employees soon, along with the yearly pub schedule – so if you are a new CCFA Term member this fall, watch your email!

Infosession Calendar Invites should be in your Outlook calendars – watch for topics that you’d like to hear more about, and we’re looking forward to seeing you at the sessions! The format is 20 minutes each for the topic, questions, and free discussion. Email ac.ytlucafnusomac@afcc if you don’t have them in your calendar!

Up next:

  • Oct 22, 2026 – 10:00 – 11:00 am – Benefits & Leaves
