Greetings to all our CCFA Members!

Did you miss the Fall General Meeting on October 9, 2025?
If so, you missed another successful hybrid meeting — but not to worry! Here are your highlights from the meeting, along with a few reminders for the months ahead.

Meeting Business & Reports

Professional Development

  • Huge thanks to Martha McAlister and the PD Committee for their work!
  • PD Information Meetings this fall:
    • Oct 24, 2025 – General PD Infosession
    • Nov 6, 2025 12:00-1:00 pm – Long-term PD Infosession
  • Members approved the new PD Applications & Claims Modernization Project, and it is on track to launch in January 2026, with a pilot this fall!
  • Remember, all faculty—including term instructors—have access to PD funds.

President’s Report

  • The 2025–2026 Executive Team returns for a second term—the first time in years the whole team has stayed on, so thank them when you see them.
  • Thanks to everyone who joined our members-only Welcome Back BBQ and Annual Planning Day—there was a great turnout, and the energy was incredible.
  • Fair Employment Week is here! We’re celebrating our term colleagues with coffee coupons to help connect with their teammates.
  • Infosession Calendar Invites coming to your Outlook inbox! These are now regularly recurring times, dates, and topics. Accept them all so you can drop in when you need to. The format is 20 minutes each for the topic, questions, and free discussion. Up next:
    • Oct 23, 2025 – Benefits & Leaves
    • Nov 25. 2025 – Faculty Appraisal
  • Pub Nights are back! But this year, due to popular demand, there are rotating nights and locations! Watch for our invites and RSVP to join in.

Contract Negotiation Committee (CNC)

  • We continue to wait for the Labour Relations Board to assign a Vice Chair to our case.
  • Updates will be shared as soon as they’re available.
  • Stay tuned for more news from Michael Stewart and the CNC team.

Contract Management Committee (CMC)

  • Thank you to Peter Ove, the CMC Committee, and welcome to our 2 new members.
  • Members are encouraged to bring inequitable workload issues forward for review.
  • Discussion continues about improving equity language in the next collective agreement.

Treasurer’s Report

  • Amended 2025-2026 Budget Passed

President, Camosun College Faculty Association

Lynelle is a queer, leftist rabble-rouser galvanized to guard the rights of union members and is on a crusade to convince you that you get out of your Union what you put into it. Lynelle serves on Presidents Council of the Federation of Post-Secondary Educators (FPSE) and was elected to FPSE Executive as a Member-at-Large. She is on a number of FPSE affiliate committees, including the 2SLGBTQIA+ and Racialized Workers Caucuses for the BC Fed. Lynelle volunteers for a rooftop community garden, which partners with Harvest & Share Food Aid Society to grow fresh produce for local food banks and community food security programs.
