2022 AGM – May 6, 11am – Y216, Lansdowne Campus

May 3, 2022 by CCFAASC 1 Comment

Na'tsa'maht - Working Together as One: Artist Butch Dick

We hope to see you there for our first in-person AGM in 2 years! Agenda and Minutes will be sent a few days ahead.

Schedule:

  • 10.30-11.00: Tea & Coffee, let’s (re)connect (outdoors)
  • 11.00-12.30: AGM (Presentations of the Executive Officers / Election of the 2022/2023 CCFA Executive) (Y216)
  • 12.30-2.00: Door Prizes followed by a Lunch Social (outdoors, individual lunch boxes, bring your picnic blanket)

Please let us know if you’ll attend (so we order the right amount of lunch boxes) and if you have any allergies/dietary requirements.

P.S.  If you know the origin of this image, please CONTACT US!  It has been featured on our AGM slides for so many years that the origin and artist aren’t readily known!  I was hoping that one of our members would remember and help us to obtain proper attributions.

UPDATE!  The artist is Butch Dick, Skip Dick’s brother and a special thank you to Sandee Mitchel for contacting Butch for us.  Butch has said it is okay to keep using the image and he shared that the canoe signifies a journey and the wolf in the canoe is a traditional Lkwangen image tied to the territory and the paddle raised represents victory.  He does not remember the history of how it came to be with us but he is happy it is being used.

The Camosun College Faculty Association serves it’s members while residing on the traditional and unceded territories of the Lkwungen (Esquimalt and Songhees) and W̱SÁNEĆ (Pauquachin, Tsartlip, Tsawout, Tseycum) peoples. We express our profound gratitude to our traditional hosts’ welcome and tolerance of our uninvited presence while we strive to dismantle our colonial, patriarchal, and racist cultural biases.
