In accordance with FPSE’s Pension Advisory Committee procedures and the responsibilities of Presidents’ Council as outlined in the FPSE Policy & Procedures Manual (Section 5.5) and the Constitution, the Pension Selection Committee is seeking nominations to fill the FPSE-appointed trustee position on the College Pension Board. The successful nominee will serve as an interim appointee until their nomination can be ratified by the FPSE AGM in May of 2026. Once appointed, the Pension Trustee will serve a three-year term, expiring on December 31, 2028.

Eligibility:

Nominees for the interim appointment must:
• Be a current or former member of an FPSE Local represented under the College Pension Plan.
• Not be in receipt of College Pension Plan benefits.
• Be able to demonstrate a commitment to pension advocacy, fiduciary responsibility, and equity.
• Be available to attend required Board meetings and related training sessions.
• Be able to submit a request for course release.

Local Nomination Process:

Please submit the following information to ac.ytlucafnusomac@afcc by 5 pm Friday, September 12, 2025, for Executive review:
• Name and contact information of the nominee
• A short statement (max 250 words) outlining your qualifications and interest in the trustee role
• A condensed candidate’s resume (two pages or less)

Locals are encouraged to consider equity, regional representation, and diverse experience when submitting nominations. There is up to 50% release associated with this appointment.  Nominees must have confirmation from the Local President that the nomination has been endorsed.

The formal Pension Committee selection process will occur in early Fall, with the aim of making a recommendation to Presidents’ Council within the first two months of the season.

Please have a look at the College Pension Plan website to familiarize yourself with the Plan, Board Policies, and Joint Trust Agreement. Click here to learn more about the College Pension Board of Trustees. You can also review the FPSE website information on Pensions & Retirement.

If you have additional questions about the position, feel free to send them to Lynelle Yutani by email (ac.ytlucaFnusomaC@tnediserp) or private message Lynelle on Discord.

Our Executive will review all interested applicants on September 16 during our Executive Meeting. Locals may endorse multiple applicants. All Local nominations must be submitted to FPSE on or before September 19, 2025. No late nominations can be accepted.
